[vinnomot] Pranab visiting cyclone affected areas in Bangladesh-but did India offer enough?

While I hail Pranab's attempt for improvement of bilateral relation, India is guilty of not doing enough to aid relief operation in cyclone affected areas.

1) $1M aid to Bangladesh is pittance compared to India's capacity-India donated $10M to Uganda diasaster just last year--even $5M to Katrina with military help.

2) Pranab would have offered INA ships for rescues-there were shortage of transport to carry out aids to remote islands. India did offer this help to Pakisthan in recent past. Whether Bangladesh would have accepted  Military help is a different matter but it was India's responsibility to offer help since Indian Navy had no job in hand with so many ships.

I don't understand India's action in this matter. There has been anti-Bangladeshi feeling among Indians after media coverage of anti-India terror camps in Bangladesh during BNP era. But present Bangladeshi Govt was doing a good job in diluting these terror camps. This was good chance to reach to Bangladeshi people with help to improve bilateral relation and I don't know why Pranab missed it. I must say he has failed in this matter.
