Dear Dr. Kalim Irfani,
For many years now you have been very thoughtful and judicious in bringing fellow Pakistanis in your forum with a renewed awareness about the subject of 1971 Genocide of Bangladesh. Your warmth and largesse in this and other matters have provided the solace I sought in this strife torn world.
It is a shame that Munir, who, I believe, made your cyber acquaintance through me, has taken advantage of your kindness and has dragged you in this unnecessary spat. As a physician you ought to recognize the afflictions of a deranged mind. As a humanist par excellence, and in your position of being a person of Pakistani origin, who but you should understand first hand that there is no such thing as TWO sides of genocide?
I apologize for not suffering a fool lightly and for any contribution I may have made in the acrimony. It is the month of December and the memory of 1971 makes the whole nation of Bangladesh heavyhearted and reflective.
I am sure the people of Bangladesh would join me in wishing the people of Pakistan freedom from oppression, neo-colonial militarism and mullatocracy, a struggle that never seems to end in our neck of the woods.
With sincere regards,
Farida Majid
