Mukto Mona has been a strong supporter of Pakistani journalist and documentary film-maker Ms Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, a brave lady who has worked to produce some of the most sensitive films in recent years on life in Pakistan, Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia etc in order to promote an understanding of the customs and conflicts in the region and to de-mystify the region in the eyes of a west that views it with suspicion and hatred. Hers is a voice of reason in very trying times and she has been among the most balanced analysts of the complex issues in a very turbulent part of the world.
Her website is www.sharmeenobaidfilms.com and one of her films, "Terror's Children", has recently been adjudged among the ten best films in Asia on current issues on the continent. I would request you to please consider her appeal as below and vote for the three best pieces out of the top 10 in the list and also forward this list to as many people who might be interested in voting as possible.
