Re: [ALOCHONA] Our Chief Justice

The Chief Justice is a controversial person and has tainted with dirt of corruption. He grabbed a piece of land from RAJUK by declaring that he did not have any other land property in Dhaka whereas he has four other. The CTG has dug it out and threatened him to strip off his position through a Judicial Commission. For that reason you see all High Court decisions are overturned in the Appelate Division headed by him. He recently stripped off Writ power of two High Court Judges at the request of the CTG.

This man is a threat to the human rights and democracy in Bangladesh.

Dear Readers:

It is appalling to see that our advisors are influencing in bringing the Judges of the High Court in addressing the public. The sitting Judges in the benches of the Court! Every lawyer around the world knows that it is a complete violation of Judge's conduct to address the public in order to give their opinion about any law existing or in the parliament for considerations. It is the duty of the public representatives to jusify the promulgation of any enactment. The lawyers, law professors and think tanks in the related field should be commenting on the issues of justifications and needs. It must be mentioned that the Judges are at libery to interpret the existing laws or to complete the gaps with their decisions through precedents. To allow sitting Judges to address the public and the media with regard to any justification or amendment to any law puts the judge into question as to his impartiality as to any future cases before him in the related law. Our CJ was prompt to criticise the existing law of inheritance as a question of time but where are his opinions as to the question of Special Powers Act or the Special Tribunals? I bet he does not even have the guts to utter a single word and have no other option but to hide behind the veil of Judges Rule of Conducts. At least we are now sure that anyone who has any question related to Islam and Quran - we know his personal convictions.

Sincerely,
