Joy Bangla!! Saidee used come to the USA and collect thousands of dollars from his followers. We demonstrated against him and tried to convince his followers that Saidee is not an Islamic scholars but a war criminals. As a result, rapidly # of his followers reduced and his income reduced. Finally, we lobbied with State Department not to give him visa to the USA. Thanks to our PM and Projanma Chattar movement for bringing Saidee to justice and finally facing death penalty. I take this moment to remember Saheed Janoni Jahanara Imam and my colleagues in NY late Kazi Zakaria and my friend Farasath Ali who is now in BD for their contributions to the movement for the trial of the war criminals. Also I thank all the members of our movement in the USA during 1990s and now. Joy Bangla!!

Nurnnabi, do you remember how hard I worked to assemble demonstrators against Sayidee in front of the venue of his Waj Mahfil in New York City in 1995? Masses of Bangladeshis came from the Tri-State area to listen to him. I created a leaflet with a verse from Sura Sajda from the Qur'an copied in beautiful Arabic script and its Bangla translation. People were deeply moved by this message and, I hope, some of them realized what a fake moulana Sayidee was!
@Farda Apa, Yes you did a great job for the movement. Those leaflets were very effective. I thank you and all others for your contributions. I wish I could mention everybody by name, however, I thank you all in the USA for your contributions for the movement. Joy Bangla!!

I learned something then, which has been later proven to be true. Sayidee's popularity as a moulana and a good boyan-kari is not understood by the educated middle class. That is not an easy problem to solve. Many ordinary citizens, who do not follow Jamaat and hate the 1971 razakars, love Sayidee and his Waj-nasihat. Go ahead, have a conversation with a rickshaw-wallah or pan-shopwallah! They really believe that he was innocent in 1971.
