Since starting the initiative in 2006, volunteers of BdOSN have been able to increase the number of entries in the Bangla Wikipedia from 500 to 16,500 (as of December 2007). In addition to that, they have added thousands of photographs to the public domain, documenting the history and heritage of
To enhance the quality and number of articles in Bangla Wikipedia, and to perform research, BdOSN has started a fellowship programme from the year 2008. BdOSN will offer 2 fellowships for the year 2008. The fellowship will be for a period of 3 month and on part-time basis.
Duties and responsibilities
- To do a research on public domain Bangla resource
- To make a plan to accelerate the content creation in Bangla Wikipedia
- To organize different wiki-events
- To enhance the existing articles
- To popularize the wiki philosophy in the country
Required Skill and Competencies
The incumbent should at least be 3rd year undergraduate student at any university. He should be based in
Remuneration
Each fellowship will provide a researcher with 3,000/- (Three thousand) taka per month.
