[mukto-mona] MICHAEL MOORE'S LETTER "WHO DO WE VOTE FOR THIS TIME AROUND?", MY APPRECIATION AND REPLY

MICHAEL MOORE'S LETTER "WHO DO WE VOTE FOR THIS TIME AROUND?", MY
APPRECIATION AND REPLY :
In his Letter "Who Do We Vote For This Time Around?" Mr. Michael Moore
mentioned of three prospective persons to replace the man who are now
after occupying "three countries and a white house" and suggested
among others the following :
(01) HILLARY :
Positive:
(i) Moore wrote a chapter (in his first book) entitled, "My Forbidden
Love for Hillary" in which he expected her success as a President in
order to a lady president for the first time of "218 years of white
male rule in a country with 51% are female".
Negative :
(i) Hillary voted "that gave Mr. Bush his "authorization" to invade,
and then subsequently endorsing Bush's other war-activities until last
March", even when 70% of the American public were against war.
(ii) Hillary knows that the sexist country (USA) would never consider
a woman as president. So in order to show smartness she would behave
rough and "tough as a man" and follow the predecessor's path.
(ii) Hillary voted in the Senate causing the middle class to suffer
even more (she voted for Bush's first bankruptcy bill, and she is now
the leading recipient of payoff money -- I mean campaign contributions
-- from the health care industry).
(02) BARACK OBAMA :
Positive :
(i) Is a good and inspiring man with no doubting sincerity or his
commitment to get things straight. He was against the war as known
from a speech he gave before the war started.
Negative :
(i) He voted for the funds for the war and for a corporate-backed bill
to make it harder for the little guy to file a class action suit when
his kid swallows lead paint from a Chinese-made toy. (ii) Obama
considers the Wall Street exploitation justified. (iii) He wants the
failed insurance companies to help in developing a new health care
plan.
(03) JOHN EDWARDS :
Positive :
(i) He says that he "believe(s) to his soul that corporate greed and
corporate power has an ironclad hold on democracy." (ii) He won't take
the big checks from the corporate PACs, and he is alone among the top
three candidates in agreeing to limit his spending and be publicly
funded. (iii) He declared that he would go after the drug and oil
companies and others who is messing with the American worker. (iv) The
medias are afraid that he might go after their monopolistic power.
Negative :
(i) He voted for the war.
Positive :
(v) He stated forcefully that he was wrong and sorry for voting for
the war. (ii) He said he would bring back the entire troops home in
less than a year. (iii) He has a plan for universal health care.

MY APPRECIATION : I appreciate extremely intelligent Mr. Michael Moore
to have sensed the real snake, but I very much doubt in the strength
of his rod. In the present system of US election any successful
candidate would have to bank on corporate funding, that helps to
increase the biting strength of the snake. In case you want to kill
the snake, you need a much bigger, country-wide rod, which is nothing
but your entire population. You need to educate them and show how the
Corporate snakes are wasting the wealth of USA in enriching their own
accounts by depriving the US citizens, the people of the world and
even endangering this globe. Mr. Michael Moore, you have an excellent
media to do that. Please inspire the US citizens through your movies.

MY REPLY :
MMFlint@aol.com

Dear Mr. Michael Moore,
Thank you for your mail "Who Do We Vote For This Time Around?". I have
been half-convinced by your writing. I do not know if you took some
"writing courses" from any commercial institute, but your above
writing indicates that you did.
You started with praise for Hillary, such that Hillary-supporters may
start liking your writings. But finally, you expressed your negative
comments about her. Similarly you started with grim lines about John
Edwards and ended up with indirect praises. All these may be the
technique to get your favorite party or candidate winner. But "DO YOU
THINK THAT IT WOULD SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM AND THE PROBLEMS THE WORLD IS
FACING DUE TO THE US GOVERNMENT ?
Probably you know that in the non-UD world, USA as a country is
considered as a curse. The country is the root cause of destructions
of democracy, peace and stability in a larger portion of the world.
The non-US world knows that it is the US government, and not the
people who is responsible for the ill deeds. And they know, the
government has been doing all these because of a defective system of
election.
Of all the systems of democratic election, USA has opted for the
Presidential system, in which the efficiency or success of the elected
government depends wholly upon One, and only One person. Do you
believe that in this society with complex problems you can find a
single person with the capability to handle this complex and titanic
task ?
The honest answer should be "No". In that case the responsibility
should be given upon "the combined leadership of the elected party"
(which is assured in the Parliamentary system of democracy) and not on
"one person, dictating a party". It is often said that the
"Presidential system enables a strong government, where as the
Parliamentary system, a weak one". Yes, the parliamentary system has
the greatest weakness that as per present rules the government falls
any time the elected members show non-confidence in their Prime
Minister (Chairman). Don't you think that it is highly illogical and
unethical because of the following ?
(i) It is the voters who have elected the party. So, the
non-confidence of the members (which may happen due to their personal
clash with the Prime minister) should in no way be taken as the
mandate of the voters.
(ii) In case the elected party (group of elected parliamentary
members) finds their Chairman (Prime Minister) incapable, they may
replace him by internal election among themselves.
(iii) The President may arrange for fall of the elected government
only if he notices country-wide dissatisfaction of the voters (which
may be expressed through mass-petition) against the government.
The greatest and most critical weakness of the Parliamentary system
can be remedied by taking care of the above, which is quite easy.
Your country has adopted the Presidential system on the plea that "it
is strong". By now probably you have noticed some of negativities of
the Presidential system in your country. In the non-US-world tyrants,
fascists and religious fascists accept this system, because it is easy
to continue "pure dictatorship" through this system. Such dictatorial
governments enormously harm the interest of the common people in the
wealth-constraint countries. You might notice that the President of
USA also continues dictatorial rule. This rule however, does not
affect the common and the poor US citizens. In US constitution there
are provisions for ensuring the basic necessities and safeguarding
some human rights, where as the same in absent in all the non-US
countries.
The non-US world knows how bitterly they suffer because of the
existence of a "dictator-President" in USA.
You know, in USA the election is a big game of enormous money. In open
functions like "fund raising, handshake dinner, prayer dinner" etc.
the Presidential candidates collect money. However, the much bigger
chunk of money is assured by or collected secretly from the
multi-national companies. Many of them are war-weapon producers. So,
after the Presidents are elected, they need to :
(i) Make telephone calls to the head of tiniest country to give
business to one of his firms (Quite often such governments need to
obey the 'master' in violation of the rules of their country).
(ii) Endeavor for creating tyrant governments who could work as their
slaves (Through such slaves the US government and their agents take up
programs many of which go highly against the interests of the people,
the country and environment).
(iii) Endeavor to create war or war-like situation such that the
war-weapon manufacturers may get the scope to make big business (Such
programs create scope for the US government to transfer the
Tax-payer's money from the Government fund to the accounts of the
weapon-producers).
From the above probably you might understand what serious and acute
problem the US government is posing for the entire world. Even though
their program do not seriously affect the interest of the common
people (because of some constitutional provisions), where only the US
citizens with empathy for the mankind suffer, the non-US world in
general suffer badly. Also USA causes considerable portion of world's
wealth and resources Neither they can ensure the interest of the poor
people for scarcity of provisions, nor can they ignore the "power" of
the USA.
I am a citizen of Bangladesh, whose birth in 1971 was vehemently
opposed by the USA. But still then I cannot consider USA as the enemy
country because how strongly and sincerely the common people of USA
and some of the people's representatives extended their supports for
us. In Bangladesh we still suffer from the interferences of USA.
However, we feel safe and happy to witness the condition of Pakistan,
which is still under direct control of USA.

Dear Mr. Moore,
I very much appreciate your concern for the common people and agonies
against some of the activities of your government, which is clear from
the films you have created. From outside USA I strongly feel replacing
the Democrats by the Republican or Hillary, by John Edwards would not
bring out the solution.
You have got an excellent medium (film making) to wok. Through this
medium you can show your citizens and the world how the faulty system
of US government is, in fact, bringing curse on this world. I would
appreciate it very much if you decide to work for the bigger cause.
Sincerely yours,
