New Humanist Update #81 (10 January 2008)
Ever wondered what would happen if the dead were once again to roam the
Earth? Well, at New Humanist we have, and in our world the main event
would involve Charles Darwin sitting down to dinner with four
scientific experts to discuss how his theory of natural selection has
developed since his death. Read the brand-new January/February issue to
find out why geneticist Steve Jones would show Darwin his fruit flies,

torture became acceptable, Elizabeth Wilson comes to the defence of
militant atheism, historian Charles Freeman shows how a Roman emperor
robbed Christians of the right to debate their own religion, and Peter
Hamilton profiles the work of photographers EO Hoppé and Don McCullin.

cult of New Mexico, whose "messiah" Wayne Bent has a penchant for
