Dr. Jiten Roy supporting Mr. Sitangshu Guha in Mukto-Mona forum by
writing e-mail to Mr. Guha reinforces my trust in the adage "birds of
a feather flock together."
May I request Dr. Jiten Roy to join us in a debate on the
topic "Secularists/Communists are hypocrites?" It will be an
interesting debate to say the least.
As Avijit wrote in his response to Mr. Guha's wild proclamation that
secularists' track record vis-à-vis support for the minorities in
Bangladesh is not that sound, let me say this: Mr. Guha and his
friend (Dr. Roy) is Alzheimeric. Long before it became fashionable
to write against BNP and its four-party alliance for hurting
minorities in the wake of October 1, 2001 parliamentary election,
some of us here in Mukto-mona wrote articles, drafted petitions
against the barbaric act of BNP-led goons in rural areas of
Bangladesh. Our track record is far better than his friends who are
big shots in New York/New Jersey areas.
Will it be too much for Dr. Jiten Roy and Mr. Guha to join us here in
Mukto-mona for a healthy debate on this seminal issue that
Secularists/leftists have no spine and principle? I will be
anxiously waiting to hear their response.
Googling Dr. Jiten Roy's name in the Internet I gather that his name
is being mentioned and his photo displayed in the Hindu American
Foundation's newsletter in the Net. The same foundation also boldly
displays the word "Om" in their masthead. Now, this will be
equivalent to Muslims having a website flaunting the phrase "La Ilaha
Illallah Muhamudur Rasululla."
To me, there is not an ounce of difference between Mr. Guha, Jiten
Roy and an arch Islamist. They are all the same! Come to think of
it, Dr. Jiten Roy is not a chameleon disguising as a humanist, he is
a Hindu par excellence just as Mr. Guha is.
