Indeed being called a naPaki Jamaati Rajaker is an insult. Fortunately
my elders taught me to first see who is making the insult and then
decide if you are being insulted. In this case as you are a blind
supporter of a political party there is no way you can be truly
insulting to me. You picked the wrong guy to fool with your standard
dialogue.
Only in the last few hours has General Shakeel's fate been confirmed.
Yesterday I was trying to help members of the General's family who were
desperately trying to find out about him. I repeated what they told me.
Of what benefit is it to anyone for me to lie about his family's
location? Absurd.
It is a tragedy for Bangaldesh that so many blind supporters of AL and
BNP go abroad but learn nothing about real democracy in their adopted
countries. They maintain one set of values when they try to impress
their paler skinned friends but apply another set of values when it
comes to Bangladesh.
Nothing is to be learned from anyone who believes that Hasina or Khaleda
are the best possible leaders of their parties and the country. Except
that education is no cure for political stupidity.
Army corruption, under a Caretaker Government or an Elected Goverenment,
is wilfully ignored by AL and BNP governments. But these parties and
their supporters will bark all day and night about the Language Movement
and Independence War. Hypocrites.
I know Kiwis very well. Try to learn something from your friends in New
Zealand about how a liberal democracy should function, about who is
accountable for what and to whom and about how to exercise freedom of
thought within your own political party.
One things for sure. Your kids won't be blind supporters of anyone. May
Allah bless them.
